حكاية البنت التي طارت

كنا قاعدين في شرفة منزل صديق جديد في مدينة صغيرة نزورها لأول مرة. الشرفة أرضيةٌ بها أصائص ورد ويفصلها عن الطريق العام سياجٌ معدني تنبثق منه تماثيل صغيرة لملائكة.  وكنت على وشك أن أقول شيئاً عن جمال تلك الجلسة المسائية في المدينة النابضة لكنني انشغلت عن ذلك. كانت فتاة بملابس سباحة ضيقة قد ظهرت في بلكونة بالطابق الثالث للعمارة المواجهة لمجلسنا.  تعثرت الفتاة قليلاً قبل أن تنتصب على كرسي أو منضدة صغيرة، ثم فجأة طارت من مكانها مبتعدة عن البلكونة. لوهلة بدت كأنها فشلت وستقع لكنها شدت جسدها وحركت يديها وقدميها فاندفعت إلى الأمام وانسابت أفقياً في محازاة بلكونات الطابق الثاني تحتها ثم حطت برشاقة على الارض وجرت فدخلت المبنى لتظهر مرة أخرى على نفس البلكونة. وهذه المرة كان معها رجل يلبس قناعاً أخذ يقبل جبينها. طبعاً لفتُ نظر الناس الذين كانوا معي منذ أول لحظة، وشاهدوها عندما حطت على الطريق، وصرخوا من هول الأمر وقال أحدهم، كيف تطير بلا أجنحة وكان رد زوجته جاهزاً، خداع بصري.  وقال آخر، لا وقت عندنا لمعرفة ما إذا كانت هناك خيوط فتدخلت صديقته وقالت إن أشياء غريبة كثيرة تحدث ...

It went like this: Ousmane Sembène liked to tell about his travels across Africa in the’60s. One day after he had finished showing his film “Money Order” in a small town in Cameroon he was approached by a local policeman, whose attention made him a little nervous. “Where did you get that story?” the officer wanted to know. Mr. Sembène replied that the plot, which chronicles the chaotic and corrupting effects of money from France on a Senegalese family, was his own invention. “But it happened to me,” the policeman said. Luxor African Film Festival 2013

Young African filmmakers listen to master Gerima Click here to see more photos by Egyptian photographer Hasan Amin The Luxor African Film Festival (LAFF) concluded its second edition Sunday March 24th 2013 in the historic Luxor city in Egypt. The festival ran in several venues in the city. It was characterized by workshops on filmmaking presented by Egyptian filmmakers under the guidance of Tunisian filmmaker Mr. Reda Elbahi. A fourth workshop was conducted by world-renowned Ethiopian master filmmaker Haile Gerima (maker of Teza , Sankofa etc.) Here is what LAFF organizers had to say about Gerima's contribution: ".. Haile Gerima's Workshop in Luxor is a big African and international occurrence. Youth of Africa will get an opportunity to gather and get to know more about each other; to discover their imaginations, perceptions and common issues and problems.
