Movie Critic Review: Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Review: It appears from the way this movie ends that it marks the beginning of a new series of species-exploring kinds of scenarios. But it is a good movie indeed especially if you love computer-generated imagery(CGI).

You get to see a battle between humans and chimps on The Golden Gate Bridge with magnificent scenes and sounds!

The movie, undoubtedly, makes for the weak scenarios that caused the failure of both the 1968 The Planet of the Apes (starring Charlton Heston) and the 2001 version made by director Tim Burton but keeps the same central ideas tackled by its predecessors about mankind and other species.

The story here is a sci-fi tale of scientist testing new drugs on animals. It is told from the view point of the chimps who revolt against humans and human vanity after their leader has his brain developed through the effects of an experimental drug used on his deceased father.

Experimenting with animal brains and artificial intelligence might not be without bad consequences to humanity. I believe the movie is trying to convey this message but mostly it tells about a shared eagerness to freedom and acknowledgement by both mankind and other related species.

The movie uses, in an amazing manner, the technology of computer generated imagery which is good enough for you to see emotions and responses exchanged between man and monkey.

The film is rated excellent and is playing in most movie theatres. It is also available for adding to your library.

  1. Best movie ever! Very realistic if humans keep using animals as a testing field for science. Highly recommend everyone to see this move. 5/5
